Faaborgegnens Efterskole is a Danish “efterskole”; a boarding school with 124 students at the age of 14-18.
As an Efterskole we have substantial freedom in terms of fx choice of subjects, teaching methods and educational approach. At Faaborgegnens Efterskole we think that learning should be motivated by curiosity and the desire to learn rather than exams or tests.
We believe in the words of the Swedish author Astrid Lindgren; “Give the children love, more love and still more love – and the common sense will come by itself”.
Faaborgegnens Efterskole is a part of Edumission 2017. The Efterskole is a unique Danish form of school, where students from the ages of 14 to 18 can choose to spend one year before starting an upper secondary education. The 245 schools of this kind in Denmark have different political, religious and pedagogical orientation.
